Remembrance Dinner

Remembrance Dinner

On Saturday 10th November at 7.30pm, Lodge Heart of Midlothian no.832 will be holding a Remembrance Dinner at Tynecastle Park to remember and celebrate all of those how have served in conflict. Building on the success of a similar event in 2016, this year the occasion is even more poignant as it commemorates 100 years since the end of the Great War.

As before, the evening will draw upon the lodge’s exceptionally close historical ties with the Gorgie and Dalry community as well as with Heart of Midlothian Football Club – building upon relatively recently unearthed research showing the nature of our affinity as well as our newly reopened dialogue with the football club.

On the night, representation from the playing staff will be present with Scott Wilson, known as the voice of Tynecastle, compering the event. We’ll hear some historical background and stories of those who have served as well as hear some appropriate music in memory and celebration of those who have served.

Notably the event is open to all (masons, non-masons, male and female) and it is highly encouraged that brethren invite partners, friends and family as we’re keen for as wide an array of people as possible are able to attend and are made aware of Freemasonry’s strong historical role in the community.

Tickets are priced at £40 and include a welcome drink, three course meal, half a bottle of wine, tea/coffee and a donation to charity.

Tickets are selling exceptionally will with over 120 sold over the summer and with a number of lodges within and out with the province buying tables (seating ten). If you are interested in buying a table as a lodge or wish a small number of tickets then please contact the lodge secretary at
